7 Seconds - "The Crew" LP on BYO Records $10.00
Debut album from 1984. From Reno, Nevada, 7 Seconds along with Minor Threat really laid down the foundations for what would become the youth crew movement. The songs feature positive lyrics along with ripping US hardcore that draws heavily from UK and LA punk influences. A classic.

7 Seconds - "Walk Together, Rock Together" LP on BYO Records $10.00
The 1986 follow up to their debut album. Pretty much in the same vein as the first album. The B side is live and really captures their intensity. Great positively charged hardcore music to sing, skate, or drive around with your friends to.

Ääritila - "Ennen Huomista, Tana Tuomiopaivana" LP on Feral Ward $10.00
Members of Meanwhile, Totalitar, and Riistetyt playing classic styled Finnish hardcore.

Abaddon - "Godzina Krzywd" LP on Nikt Nic Nie Wie $12.00
"Remember Polish '80s thunder? And their LP released by French label New Wave? They're back, and hard to believe - they're good! Check this out!" -NNNW

Acrostix - "(A Chain) Of Hatred" 12" on Whisper In Darkness Label $10.00
600 pressed, green vinyl. Originally (self?) released in 2007, Acrostix's "(A Chain) Of Hatred" 12" gets some U.S. distribution care of the Whisper In Dark Label. Excellent, rocking Japanese hardcore/crust. Fans of Japanese Hardcore will not be disappointed with this release.

Active Minds - "Free To Be Chained" 12" on Loony Tunes Records $10.00
Ranging from melodic hardcore to full on thrash, this is the second album by England's Active Minds from 1997. Political punk with a sincere commitment to DIY values, anti-capitalism, and radical leftist politics.

Active Minds - "It's Perfectly Obvious That This System Doesn't Work" LP on Loony Tunes Records $12.00
New LP from England's Active Minds. Still committed to sincere DIY politics, animal rights, and anarchist principles, Active Minds pick up right where they left off. Great anarcho thrash.

Adolescents - "Welcome To Reality" 10" on Frontier Records $10.00
The classic Adolescents EP from 1981 available on 10" format with the inclusion of the song "Richard Hung Himself" which was originally meant to be included on the "Welcome To Reality" EP but was left off. For rabid fans of the Adolescents who may already own the EP, the addition of "Richard Hung Himself" is a must have. A great southern California release with a much darker feeling than the s/t (Blue) LP with great guitar playing by Rikk Agnew and bleak lyrics and great vocals from Tony Cadena. Comes on white vinyl.

After The Bombs - "Relentless Onslaught" 12" on The Total End Records $10.00
First full length by this metal/punk band from Montreal. Heavily influenced by Sacrilege (right down to the brutal female vocals), this band really nails the sound and style they are going for. Nice gatefold packaging and an all around perfect release.

AGE - "Scar Of Lead" LP on Black Water Records $10.50
Japanese crust.

Aghast - "Deformities" LP on Agipunk Records $12.00
Influenced by Japanese noise bands, Aghast picks up along the same lines as where Atrocious Madness left off. I don't think these guys are an AM clone though, like so many other bands of this genre. Aghast has a more authentic sound than the legions of other bands playing this style who've culled their sound from Soulseek downloads and Myspace profiles. I also like the fact that this is a political band and not just a bunch of upstarts talking about how much they love "noise not music." A good release.

Agression - "Don't Be Mistaken" LP on BYO Records $10.00
Nardcore through and through. Solid early '80s skate punk/hardcore that would later go on to record for Mystic Records. A solid LP.

ANS - "The Process Of Stoking Out" LP on Cowabunga Records $10.00
I'll be the first to admit to being perhaps prematurely dismissive of the current skatecore scene. Even the big names of the '80s scene only had a couple of truly great songs ("Cokes And Snickers" and "Skate And Destroy"), never mind today's bands. And i guess i'd felt that way about ANS too. But the description for this release said "the band's best material yet," so why not. Anyway, this LP was a nice surprise and is certainly better than the previous ANS material i'd heard. To me, it sounds like post "Damaged" era Black Flag mixed with some early crossover influences. The production is spot on for a 1984/85 skate punk sound, and i think any song off this LP would have fit well on one of the mid-'80s Thrasher Skate Rock comp volumes. It kind of reminds me of the recent Bark Hard reissue. The covers are all also individually screened and numbered. All in all, a really nice package, and i was glad to get these. Definitely recommended.

Antidotum - "Testowane Na Ludziach" LP on Nikt Nic Nie Wie $12.00
"This band is from Warsaw, and if you think Post Regiment - you're right! No personal links (apart from being friends) but immediate link when you hear their music. Powerful, melodic punk with a female singer, more aggressive that most of Post Regiment stuff. Think of old Armia records to get another hint. Finally available on vinyl too!" -NNNW

Anxiety - "Pathetic" 12" on Social Napalm Records $10.00
I'm not sure how to write a description to get a new record to stand out, but i honestly released this record because i really loved the music, and i hope people will share my enthusiasm for it. There's nine songs here, and, to me, it sounds like late '80s British HC. I'd say Electro Hippies, Atavistic, that Terrorain demo 7" a bit or Death Sentence from Australia. It's got a lot of echo on the vocals and really negative and pessemistic lyrics with an appropriately raw recording. I hope people will be willing to take a chance on this. If you're into late '80s UKHC, check this out.

Armistice - "Fluff And Stuff - The EPs & The Early Years" LP on Despotic Records $8.00
"This is an early discography from this long running Southern California political peacepunk band. 16 songs from way out of print compilations, the split 7 ep with Flux of Disorder, the s/t ep, and a few unreleased versions. In the vein of Final Conflict, Crucifix, and Discharge." - HC Holocaust

Ausgebombt - "HellBomber" LP on Hardcore Holocaust $10.00
"Portland raw punk bastards playing 100% metallic hardcore punk. This is a distortion saturated, Scandinavian inspired, dis-assault featuring members from Blood Spit Nights and Hellshock. Essential RAW brutality!!! Includes a Broken Bones cover. (For an older line up reference: These are the Religious War guitarists, Defiance vocalist and Axiom drummer). The LP version comes with a vinyl sticker, patch, two sided insert and MASSIVE oversized 24"x36" fold out poster, all packed in a punk-as-fuck b/w slick cardstock jacket." -Jay/Hardcore Holocaust

Bad Brains - "Rock For Light" $12.00
European repress that i believe is official(?). This is the last essential Bad Brains release (although i personally also enjoy "I Against I") "The tracks on this album exemplify the Bad Brains' unique blend of reggae and metal-embellished hardcore. Ric Ocasek's excellent production works especially well on the thrashers by underlining some of their complex arrangements and superb musicianship, and even though a fair proportion of this material has been released previously, it's difficult to ignore memorable blasts like "Fearless Vampire Killers" and "How Low Can a Punk Get?" Solid and powerful." -Steve Spinali (from Maximum Rocknroll #8, September 1983)

The Bags - "All Bagged Up... The Collected Works 1977-1980" LP on Artifix Records $13.00
"After years (Literally) of hunting, researching, tracking down and finagling, Artifix is proud to present "ALL BAGGED UP...the collected works 1977-1980. Blood Spit Nights - "Despot Butchery" LP on Hardcore Holocaust $10.00
"Portland city hardcore punk fucking rock. Their final release with 7 charged noise anthems... a noise mask of radioactive thrash fumes! Comes in gatefold packaging with an 11x17 poster." -Jay/Hardcore Holocaust

Blown To Bits/Deathtoll split LP on Despotic Records $9.00
Two Oakland thrash / crust bands on this record. Blown to Bits launch the assault with seven tracks of ultra-heavy and distorted thrash. Deathtoll follow up with seven more salvos of Discharge-style hardcore, with a distinct sound that comes from ex-Attitude Adjustment members. All lyrics on this LP are political, and it comes packaged with two lyric sheets / posters.

Bombs Away - s/t 12" (self released) $10.00
Originally released in 2001, now repressed with a new hand screened cover. Raw and rocking HC punk from Portland, Oregon that contains members of Talk Is Poison and Harum Scarum.

Born Dead Icons - "Salvation On The Knees" LP on Partners In Crime Records $9.00
Dark yet melodic in some senses hardcore punk. A wide variety of influences can be heard here from New Model Army or the Wipers to Discharge. Born Dead Icons is one of the best bands going today, doing their own thing and staying AWAY from the Tragedy/FAR influence. A great record.

Boxed In - s/t LP on Crime Scene Records $12.00
After two singles comes the full length from this bunch of long-standing UK punks. Thirteen songs in just 18 minutes. No ballads here, just full speed ahead thrashing-punk in the vein of Heresy and Larm.

Busy Signals - s/t LP on Dirtnap Records $10.00
"Touching on several overlooked styles that have only recently become appreciated, the Busy Signals are an unstoppable explosion of so many great nuances that it will literally make your head spin. With their instantly gratifying buzzing sound firmly rooted in original formula high-energy pop without a side of the feyness usually along for the ride, they have developed an incredible knack for weaving in bass lines and backup vocals that rekindle the magic created by first-wave Belgian punk bands right alongside the refreshing twists of primordial glam. This all comes together to concoct a blend of "real deal" punk so enthralling you'll be surprised at how bleak your outlook on life was before you were exposed to it, and you'll quickly realize how passable everything else seems to sound that came before it." -Ken/Dirtnap Records

Christ On Parade - "Sounds Of Nature" LP on Prank Records $10.50
"Classic East Bay Hardcore delivered in a whirlwind of Speed and Anger, with blunt political Punk lyrics, This is a re-issue of Christ On Parade's earliest material that has been out of print for nearly two decades - the original "Sounds Of Nature" 12" from 1985 on one side, then tracks from Thrasher magazine's Skaterock, Vol.3 Compilation, The original, unreleased version of the "Isn't Life A Dream" 7" and an unreleased Avengers cover on the flip. The packaging of the LP closely replicates the original "Sounds Of Nature" EP on Pusmort Records with a large 11x22" insert of the original inner sleeve, complete lyrics and full color photos. Members of Christ On Parade went on to play in Neurosis, Blister, Hellbillys, Plan 9, Econochrist and more." -Prank Records

Crash Box - "Nel Cuore" LP on TVOR On Vinyl $14.00

Cut-Throat - "s/t" one sided 12" on Partners In Crime Records $10.00
Debut six song 12" from Cut-Throat, Fast 'n raw Portland HC Scandi-style punk here with a bit of MotorSchool thrown in members/ex members of every Portland band of the last few years. The blank side comes with an etching on it. Artwork by Yossie.

DC Snipers - "Missile Sunset" LP on Dead Beat Records $10.00
I was too fucking lazy to write a description for this, so here's the review from Terminal Boredom: "Stunning debut full length from these DC Snipers dudes. The split single they did last year only hinted at their chops and song writing skill. They assault the punk genre from many different angles here, coming up with an assbasket full of catchy tunes and choruses. There are a ton of things I like about this: (a)"You Disappear Me" sounds like a piss-take on The Ponys. (b) Some of it sounds like an alternate universe version of Fugazi (like if a bizarro Mackaye & Co. had an actual sense of humor and liked cheap intoxicants), taking Gang of Four-ish post-punk with a small bit of hardcore and mixing in some punk-garage highlights and clever and funny lyrics. (c) The wrote a catchy and upbeat number called "All Humans Are Garbage". (d) Great rhythm section. (e)There's a moron-core tune called "Soviet Union" in which those two words are the only lyrics as far as I can tell. (f) "Get Awesome on the Streets" and "Electric Chair from Saigon" would make killer A-Sides for singles. (g) They made me think of Rat At Rat R for some reason. I'm not saying they necessarily sound like Rat At Rat R, but they made me think of them. Which must be good. (h) I think one of them has a beard. (i) They sneak in some keyboards, which I was unprepared for, and which kind of got me mad, but you really barely know they're there. Nice show of restraint there, guys, thanks a lot. See, you can have a keyboard in your rock band and not put it all over every fucking song. Anyway, before I digress too much further, this band is terrific and this record is one of the best things Deadbeat has ever put out. I'm gonna have to strip the title of best NYC band from the Shop Fronts now though. Paddy, give up the championship belt and hand it over. Scum stats: I'm sure Deadbeat pressed a few, but there is a collector scum edition of 28 with hand drawn covers by Mike Sniper. (RK)" -Terminal Boredom

Dead Meadow - "Got Live If You Want It" LP on Bomp! Records $11.00
Psych meets stoner rock from DC. This live album was recorded in 2002 and is raw and perfect for the style. Electric Prunes meets Black Sabbath. A retro band that doesn't sound like just one band. Highly recommended.

Debris - "TEN2" 12" EP on Panoptic Vision Records $12.00
Heavy political hardcore punk with plenty of hooks. Debris contains ex-members of Disaffect, Quarantine, and Scatha so that should give you a hint of where they are coming from and what they can do.

Declino - "Come Una Promessa" LP on Agipunk Records $12.00
"The vinyl press of the CD out on SOA Records this is an official reissue of the Torino hc legend! Here you can find a selection of their discography that consisted on the legendary tape split with Negazione, a 7" and 12". This is 100% Italian HC from the 80ies finally on vinyl!" -Agipunk Records

Decontrol - "The Final War" LP (Gatefold) on Hardcore Holocaust $10.00
"D-Beat apocalypse from Canada's studded and spiked veterans. A purely raw sound captured with a punishing recording. This is the soundtrack of our pending doom..." -Jay/Hardcore Holocaust

Demolition - "Mob of Wolves" 12" on Black Water Records $10.00
"The latest release from these cult legends. Japanese hardcore in a Gism meets Motorhead style!"

Deprived - "Discography" LP on Threat To Existence $10.00
Great to see this band with a discography LP out. Along with Resist, Unamused, and the Obliterated, these guys helped spawn the current day PDX scene. Serious political/anarcho-punk lyrics with an aggressive musical style. They took the best elements of bands like the Instigators, Anti-System, and Icons of Filth, and mixed it with a slightly more hardcore and angrier sound. LP comes with a Crass style fold out poster. Mandatory for fans of bands listed above, Crucifix, Conflict, or the current day Portland scene.

Desastre - "Pesadelo Real" LP on Undislessed Records $12
D-beat punk from Brazil. Fans of Brazilian raw punk like Neurose Urbana and Besthoven take note.

Diaspora - s/t LP on BBP Records $12.00
From Finland, ex-members of Yuppiecrusher and Unkind playing 16 tracks of anarcho-punk. Very hard, heavy and musical with lyric sheet.

Direct Control - "You're Controlled" 12" on Feral Ward $10.00
One of the top five LPs to come out since 1985 i reckon. Raw 1982 sounding hardcore that sounds eerily familiar but that isn't a copycat sound of any one specific band. Everything about the LP sounds and looks 1982: The production values, the guitar tone, the vocals, the artwork, and the lyrics. They really nail the style. A 'modern' classic.

Disorder - "We're Still Here" LP on Counteract Records $12.00
The original (well, sort of) UK noise merchants are still alive and kicking. This album was originally released on CD by Japan's H.G. Fact label in 2005. The recording features playing by members of Japan's Order as well as a cover of Order's "Trap." Still fucked up, fuzzed out, and great chaos punk.

DisSystema/Earth Today split 10" on Undislessed Records $10.00
D-beat crust from Philly vs crust core violence from Finland. DisSystema features members of AOS and Diallo among others playing a style of crust somewhere between Doom and Discharge.

Dog Soldier - "Barking of the Dogs of War" 12" on Hardcore Holocaust Records $9.00
"A Portland city hard punk battlecry! Features seven fist in the air charged punk anthems of war, death and exploitation. Police and terror, the blister of oppression... A vision of the future. Ex-Blood Spit Nights and Defiance members on dark red vinyl." -Jay/Hardcore Holocaust

Dropdead - s/t 12" on Armageddon Label $10.00
Dropdead's 1999 12" record. This is their crowning achievement in my opinion. Excellent and brutal thrash with the expected strong stances on animal rights.

Earth Citizens - "Complications" LP on Strongly Opposed $10.50
Swiss anarcho-punk from the early '90s reissued. Political and animal rights oriented lyrics. A great release all around.

Earth Citizens - "To A Nation Of Party Lovers" LP on Strongly Opposed $10.50
14 song reissue of Swiss anarcho-punk taking the piss out of Conflict's "To A Nation Of Animal Lovers". Great to see this music back in print and still 100% relevant 15 years later. Strongly Opposed is one of the best labels in punk today.

The Epidemic - s/t LP on Welfare Records $9.00
Years of imitation UK82 and fourth rate "street punk" fostered onto the scene marketed by labels like Punkcore and Charged Records have caused many people to completely dismiss anything influenced by bands like GBH, Mau Maus, Blitz, and the Partisans. I can't say i really blame anyone who feels that way. But the Epidemic from Boston have put together a DIY hardcore punk album firmly rooted in the UK82 sound that relies on perfect raw production (as opposed to slick Punkcore production) and a genuine feel for the music instead of spending all their time taking pictures of themselves. This record is great. It holds it's own incredibly well when compared to Court Martial and the Skeptix. Tracks like Apocalyptic Nightmare, Fog Of War, and No Shelter relay all the anger and conviction of living under Thatcher's iron fist in the '80s in Britain. If you're at all into the UK82 genre, definitely check this out because i can't recommend it highly enough. The MRR review for this was amazing, but this album was widely passed over by the scene at large. It's time for it to get some of the credit it deserves.

The Ergs - "Upstairs/Downstairs" LP on Dirtnap Records $10.00
"Lots of bands dream of becoming a great punk band, a great pop band, or a great hardcore band. But the truly great bands, the ones that come along and alter the course of music, can never be pigeonholed into just one genre. You don't want to listen to the same type of music all the time, so why would a band wnt to drone through songs that all sound the same? The Ergs have the talent to play outside the lines. The New Jersey-based trio draws influences from the strongest sections of the SST catalog, pop punk in the vein of both Ramones and Descendents, country, and even jazz. When listening to The Ergs, prepare to have your definition of pop punk challenged. As a band, everything goes; As listeners, everyone wins." -Ken/Dirtnap Records

The Equalities - "On Street!" LP on Loud Punk Records $10.00
New excellent pogo punk band out of Japan featuring Tetsutaro from Dick Spikie. Fans of Dick Spikie, Tom & Boot Boys, or other Japanese pogo punk bands should dig this.

Estranged - "Static Thoughts" LP on Dirtnap Records $10.00
"PDX 3 piece with a heavy background in the local HC/Crust scenes (members have been/are in bands like Remains Of The Day, Hellshock, Warcry, From Ashes Rise, Coldbringer, and lots more) play icy, ominous post punk ala Wipers, Mission Of Burma, Warsaw-era Joy Division, etc. LPs come with digital download coupon." -Ken/Dirtnape Records

EU's Arse - "1981-1983" LP on Agipunk Records $12.00
Early '80s Italian hardcore. Italian had a great scene in the early '80s with bands like Wretched, Negazione, Raw Power, Indigesti, Crash Box, and others. Frenzied, wild, and political. Check out an EU's Arse mp3 here http://www.agipunk.com/MP3/08-EUSARSE%20ATTACCO.mp3

The Exploding Hearts - "Shattered" LP on Dirtnap Records $10.00

The Exploding Hearts - "Guitar Romantic" LP on Dirtnap Records $10.00

Extinction Of Mankind - "The Nightmare Seconds..." LP on Profane Existence Records $10.00
The second full length release from the standard bearers of UK "crust," with 12 powerful new tracks that live up to and far surpass previous efforts. Antisect and Amebix influences abound (including a cover of "Arise") and timely political lyrics across the board. Crunching guitars, powerful vocals, and no heavy metal wanking - they way the genre was meant to be played!

Faith/Void split LP on Dischord Records $12.00
Dischord #8. Legendary release. Out of control, emotionally charged, crazed, and urgent hardcore punk from Washington DC originally released in 1982. Bost sides are phenominal. "This 12" LP (on colored vinyl) was recut from the Silver Sonya re-masters in November 2008 at Chicago Mastering Service and comes with a free MP3 download of the album. 24 songs. Recorded At Inner Ear." -Dischord Records

FM Bats - "Shark In The Water" 12" on Vinyl Dog Records $10.00
"FM Bats is comprised of Leonardo Salas (bass), & Orlando Sanchez (guitar) who were the backbone & songwriters of Im Gonna Stab You, Todd Jacobs (vocals) who also sang in Le Shok and Neon King Kong under the alias of "Nancy Manhands" and Tony Matarazzo (drums) of the Grand Elegance. The band as a whole has only been together and playing live since August of 2004. Todd and Leonardo however have been making the songs on this E.P. under the moniker "Old Crow" since they were first roommates about six years ago… FM Bats finally shed the light of day after finding the perfect local Long Beach teammates and ending prior musical obligations- mostly on bad terms. FM Bats now includes new member, Brett Cutts (Himself) on guitar, whom they acquired after his return home from living in Washington and Orlando's current two year vacation in a Nevada state prison .This is for fans of Wall Of Voodoo, The Fall, & Davie Allen & The Arrows (as if Sir Davie was on speed-Ha-Ha). Actually it obviously sounds a lot like Im Gonna Stab You with Todd singing and Tony playing drums like he was one of Adam's Antz." -TKO Records

The Frantic - "Attaque of the Grizzlie" 12" on Die Slaughterhaus Records $10.00
"A stunning debut effort from the Frantic. Firing on all cylinders, these kids take Midwestern hardcore influences (Zero Boys most notably) and graft them on to a trash-punk template and come up with something that is fast enough for serious HC fans, but also garage enough for those who can't handle the whole hardcore thing...and they cover Government Issue in the process." -Terminal Boredom

G3 - "Un Nuevo Enemigo" LP on Lengua Armada Discos $11.00
"Awesome 80s' hardcore from Peru originally released as a cassette only around 86-87. Total raw hardcore punk with early 7 seconds influences, raw and fast with a serious dose of old style punk. This is a one time press of 1000 copies on vinyl." -Martin

Gas - "1982-1986" LP on Partners In Crime $10.50
"Legendary noisy Japanese HC from 1982-86. This includes both of their rare flexi's and the split with Niku-Dan and 2 live tracks from 85 recorded off the soundboard at Eggplant. Mastered by Bob Weston." -Brickwall Records

The Germs - "Germicide: Live at the Whisky '77" LP on Bomp Records $13.00
Live 8-track recording from the Germs' very first gig ever. The recording was part of Kim Fowley's 1977 "Punk Rock Weekend" at the Whisky a Go Go, and it captured the Germs at their rawest; yet even in their beginnings, with most of their later set already written and starting to come together. It's a rough, honest, eye-opening set, showing the Germs as they really were. Originally released in a limited vinyl edition in 1980, it went quickly out of print, and then was issued cassette-only by ROIR. Now it's been reissued on vinyl with new liner notes by Kim Fowley himself, as well as by former Germs drummer Don Bolles. Comes on 180 gram vinyl.

Gorilla Angreb - "Bedre Tider" 12" on Feral Ward Records $10.00
U.S. pressing of this Danish band's 12". I've heard a ton of comparisons to X (Los Angeles) regarding this LP, but i don't really hear it honestly. It's got the male/female main/backing vocals combination much like Exene with John Doe but that's it. Melodic punk rock from Denmark that's very well executed. This has elements of pop music but is still totally a punk record. Hard to describe really.

Government Warning - "No Moderation" LP on Feral Ward $10.00
By far the best LP to come out in 2006 in my opinion. A strong mix of early California hardcore bands like Circle Jerks, RF7, Social Unrest, etc. mixed with some harder USHC influences. Production is perfect. Just an outstanding LP all around. "Fat Nation" could be one of the best mid paced hardcore songs ever written. Tons of hooks. Check it out.

Government Warning - "Paranoid Mess" 12" on Grave Mistake Records/No Way Records $10.00
"Richmond, VA's one and only Government Warning are at it again. Following 2006's "No Moderation" LP and 2007's "Arrested" EP comes their highly anticipated second full length; Paranoid Mess delivers fifteen more unrelenting tracks full of snotty hardcore attitude that musically lies somewhere between Zero Boys, Verbal Abuse, FU's or Adolescents. The diverse songwriting that you have come to expect from GW is still very much present on this new LP, from the high speed hardcore blasts to the more mid tempo, hook laden fist pumpers, and everything in between. Great sounding record that brings to mind the golden era of US hardcore - absolutely timeless and essential." -Alex/Grave Mistake Records

Guilt Lust - s/t LP on Fun With Smack Records $10.50
"Debut release from this new Western Mass band... eight songs of rough and tumbling melodic hardcore, taking cues from bands like Leatherface, Naked Raygun and Swiz." Ex-members of the Prowl, Last In Line, etc.

Hard Skin - "Same Meat, Different Gravy" LP on Feral Ward $10.00
The best. A top recommendation. "Fake" Skinhead/Oi taking the piss while having a laugh down at the pub. Nearly flawless.

Hated Youth/Roach Motel LP on Burrito Records $10.00
"This record is a ripper. Nineteen previously unreleased Hated Youth tunes from 1984 that were originally supposed to be an album on Destroy Records. Thirteen, rowdy, raunchy Roach Motel songs recorded live in 1983, including a wacky cover song. First press of 4,000 copies on heavy 140 gram colored vinyl. Comes with an eight page magazine, full of lyrics, photos and old show flyers." -Bob/Sound Idea Distribution

Haunted George - "Panther Howl" LP on Hook Or Crook Records $12.00
"Far more warped and twisted, lyrically and musically, than any guy/girl in the glut of one-man outfits, and that's why I loved this shit from the get-go. It's a sociopathic hallucination detailing the traipse through twilighted rural isolated wastelands, a true one-man band in every sense of the etc. Certainly references to the rickety, ramshackle feel of initial C&W/country blues as informed by generations of desert folklore and American one-take swings at an acoustic guitar, tobacky vox that echo tales of beware and woe throughout but doesn't sound nearly as corny as that description, no sir, and it's easily one of the best full-length releases I can recall hearing this year. (EL)" -Terminal Boredom

Homostupids - "The Intern" LP on Parts Unknown Records $11.00
Piss raw garage meets hardcore from Cleveland. Not that it's saying much, but this is one of the best LPs of 2007.

I-Attack - s/t LP on A Wrench In The Gears $9.00
"The debut release from these skate thrashers! Ex-Crudos and friends doing raging (at times melodic) skate thrash punk in the vein of Suicidal Tendencies, Life Sentence, Reagan Youth, etc. Very authentic sounding - could easily be a lost California demo." -A Wrench In The Gears

Th' Inbred - "A Family Affair" LP $10.00
"With vocals reminiscent of Ian MacKaye or Kevin Seconds, combined with an almost jazzy hardcore band makes for interesting listening. This band is big on intros that are slow and different, then rip into a thrash song with changes throughout. Beefeater fans will relate to this. Lots of challenging/thoughtful lyrics to boot. Great effort here." -Tim Yohannon (from Maximum Rock'n'Roll #36, May 1986)

Th' Inbred - "Kissing Cousins" LP $10.00
Wild '80s hardcore from Virginia. Their second LP, from 1988.

Invasion - "La Caza" 12" on La Vida Es Un Mus Discos $15.00
The 2009 equivalent of Discharge's "Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing" album. Very fucking powerful hardcore from Spain.

Kaaos - "Ristiinnaulittu Kaaos" LP on Havoc Records $10.00
"This killer LP was originally released by Barrabas Records in Finland in 1984. Kaaos were one of the foremost Finnish hardcore bands of the 80s along with Rattus, Terveet Kadet, Appendix, Bastards and Riistetyt. Kaaos has the trademark Finnish 80s sound, fast buzzsaw thrash riffs, reverby vocals, all over the place drumming, and plodding bass. This re-press has reproduced the original Crass style poster sleeve and contains three bonus tracks not on the original." -Felix Havoc

Kafka Process - "Igen Fattige, Ingen Rike" LP on Skuld Records $12.00
"For all of you who aren't familiar with this Norwegian band: They existed from '84 to '87, were the following band of "Svart Framtid", featuring Gunnar on vocals who later after Kafka Prosess' decline, formed with other friends "So Much Hate" and were in my opinion one of the best HC bands that ever came from Norway or even Europe!! On here you find all the stuff that Kafka Prosess have recorded in their 3 years of existence incl. an previous unreleased 7" session." -Skuld Releases

The Kids - s/t LP on Havoc Records $10.00
"The 1978 self titled LP from Belgiums punk legends The Kids. To my mind one of the very best of 1970's punk records and one of the greatest punk records of all time. This record sold well on it's release but has been long out of print and the band faded into obscurity overshadowed by the better marketed UK and US bands. In my world this record rocks harder and has more punk power than all the household name punk bands of the 70's like the Sex Pistols and the Damned. The Kids cut right to the essence of punk, and indeed rock and roll music, by fusing the high energy and rebellious spirit of 1950's rock and roll with 77 punk. The songs on here are all classics and have gained a cult following with collectors and fans through bootleg releases. Now Havoc and Sonik have teamed up to re issue this classic LP on vinyl with the approval of the band. Included are two bonus tracks not on the original LP and an insert with lyrics and a few photos (the original had no insert). The lyrics are not going to win any nobel prizes for literature, but they are truly punk and steeped in snotty defiance of authority. Songs like "Fascist Cops" and "Old DJs" capture the spirite of 77 punk like no others." -Felix/Havoc Records

Kohu-63 - "Korkeapaineistettu Hullujenhuone" LP on Hohnie Records $11.00
After 22 years, a new album from Kohu-63! Now with Lahti of Bastards on bass and Epe of Kaaos on guitar, these new tracks are more raw and furious than ever!

Krunch - "Mor & Far" 12" on Massproduktion $13.00
Swedish hardcore from 1987. These are the last remaining copies from the original pressing from then - I bought them direct from the label. Intense hardcore punk from a time period when most were either attempting to play blast beats or incorporate metal into their sound. While there is some 'krunch' to the riffing in some songs, this is miles away from going whimp metal or becoming a blur. Catchy, textured, and well executed hardcore punk. Sorry for the higher price, but i paid out the ass to get them here.

Kulturkampf - "Caught In An Evil Web..." LP on Loony Tunes Records $12.00
Kulturkampf were an anarcho punk band from England that released two demos in the early '80s. This LP compiles both of those demos ("The Corpse Of Democracy" and "The Struggle" demo from 1983). Kulturkampf's track "Please Help" was also featured on the Motorhate Records compilation "We Won't Be Your Fucking Poor" in 1985. Musically, this sounds very much like fairly typical anarcho-punk of the era with catchy music, shouted lyrics, and lots of political lyrics. For more info, go to http://kulturkampfuk.blogspot.com/

Kvoteringen - "Bister Prognos" LP on Terroten Records $12.00
"Hi octane Swedish raw punk. This LP features nine new tracks on one side and the 7" and split 7" tracks on the other side. Punishing hardcore with deep environmental lyrics from members of Totalitar. This LP is released on Terroten Records of Brazil." -Havoc Records

Larm - "Campaign For Musical Destruction/Straight On View" LP on Way Back When Records $12.00
"This LP has their side of the split LP with Stanx on side A. Side B is the studio side of their Straight on View LP. In other words: this LP contains all their essential studio recordings besides both EP's. 45 songs clocking in just under 40 minutes so you know these dudes don't waste their valuable time on mosh parts, break downs or any other trendy flavours of the month. This reissue comes with a large fold out lyric / photo / flyer insert . Larm is a piece of hardcore history , take notice and tell the future generation. Jos, Paul and Olav are still involved in their campaign for musical destruction as Seein Red!" -Ron/Way Back When Records

Last In Line - "L'Esercito Del Morto" LP on Acme Records $9.00
The perfect mix of Negative FX and Negative Approach with production and performance that grabs you by the throat slams your head into the wall. Fast, aggressive, and catchy. I've seen this described as sounding "more like Negative Approach than Negative Approach." Quite possibly the best Hardcore LP since 1983.

Loser Life - "I Have Ghosts And I Have Ghosts" LP $10.00
"Loser Life's debut LP entitled "I Have Ghosts and I Have Ghosts" was a three way split release between Magic Bullet, 16oh and Telford, PA's own Mism. Loser Life plays incredible melodic hardcore reminiscent of early 80s bands like Husker Du and Articles Of Faith, but with a definite modern tweak. You can hear some songs from the LP as well as a few older tracks here: http://www.myspace.com/loserlife"

Lost Cause - s/t 12" $10.50
Current and ex-members of bands like Diallo, AOS, Witch Hunt, Endless Nightmare, and Violation team up to form this new powerhouse from Philly. Originally intended to be a demo, the sound came out so well, the band decided to press it as a 12". Very well played hardcore punk somewhere in between Deathreat, Violation, Bastard, and other thick hardcore influences. A wide range of influences can be heard here. A well done debut.

The Lucky Punch - "Kick Up A Hullabaloo" LP on Dead Beat Records $10.00
"I've gone to the well far too often with this take on Dead Beat releases, but...if you like the mid-'90s Junk Rock aesthetic, this is a good release. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best of the ilk I've heard in a long time. I mean, most of this stuff makes me run screaming from the room, but The Lucky Punch are a really good band that doesn't go for the obvious, and I've listened to this several times (for actual-pleasure) since receiving it. I'll probably shelve it again for time-capsule replay in a few years, in which time bad memories of Dragons (& twenty other bands) overload will be outta my head. If you dig stuff like the Candy Snatchers, Hellbenders, Mud City Manglers & other bands of that general design, you'll love this record. (TK)" -Terminal Boredom

Marked Men - "Ghosts" LP on Dirtnap Records $10.00
"Blurring the rawness and velocity of their self-titled debut with the slightly more developed songwriting "chops" of the last two, the Marked Men have truly delivered the best of both worlds. Since their debut album came out on Rip Off in 2002 (reissued in 2008 on Dirtnap!), the Marked Men have established themselves as one of the best, most distinctive, compelling, and instantly recognizable punk bands of the 2000's. They're also quickly becoming one of the more influential. Despite that, you can pop the needle on "Ghosts" for 5 seconds and instantly be left without a doubt as to whom you are listening. It ain't pop-punk. It ain't power-pop. It ain't KBD or '77 style punk. At this point, the Marked Men sound like absolutely no one but themselves. The bad news is that this will be their last album for a couple of years, as co-lead vocalist/guitarist/total musical genius Jeff Burke is currently living in Japan. The good news is that the band swears they are NOT broken up, just on extended hiatus. We couldn't possibly be more honored that the Marked Men saw fit to return to our humble label, and are looking forward to doing more stuff with them (and hopefully their new, as yet unformed bands) in the coming years!" -Ken/Dirtnap Records

Mastic Scum - "Ephemeral Cerebral Butchery" 12" on Rodel Records $9.00
From 1993 (not a reissue), this 12" EP was Mastic Scum's first vinyl output. Harsh grind/death metal from Austria in the vein of Terrorizer and mid-period Napalm Death.

Minor Threat - "Out Of Step" LP on Dischord Records $10.00
Minor Threat's only LP recorded in January of 1983. Not as manic, fast, or intense as the first two 7"s but still excellent. The anger is not subdued on this release, just more subtle. Here's a review by Pushead from MRR #5 in 1983: "Exploding turbulence thrusts forth eight new Minor Threat proficient arrangements. Increase the velocity of their first two powerful releases, step Brian up to 2nd guitar, add new bassist Steve, and still more potent lyrical blitzes, and this 12"s non-hesitant progression outbursts into the blazing best Dischord yet. Don't miss."

Minor Threat - "First 2 7"s" LP on Dischord Records $10.00
Along with Black Flag, Discharge, and Bad Brains, i don't think there's a more influential hardcore band. This LP compiles the first two 7"s and includes 12 tracks including Filler, Straigh Edge, Bottled Violence, In My Eyes, Out Of Step, and others. This is some of the best and most sincere hardcore ever written. This pressing is on green vinyl.

Monikers - "Wake Up" LP on Kiss Of Death Records $10.00
"Featuring a member of the long-defunct Florida legends Discount, people tend to say Monikers "Wake Up" sounds like Jawbreaker, Leatherface, and a bunch of other 90's pop punk bands. What they don't know is that Monikers are probably the best band in the whole world right now. Monikers first full length record "Wake Up" is the product of years of slacking off, years of avoiding practice, and years of playing shows far too drunk for their own good, if they even show up at all. Still, somehow Monikers managed to get the songs down and record an album through minimal effort ready to bring their brand of gruff pop punk to the masses. "Wake Up" should be a welcome addition to the present state of music. It's pretty good too. Vinyl includes a free download of the songs." -Kiss Of Death Records

Nailbiter - "Abused" LP on Hardcore Holocaust $10.00
"Brutal yet intricate Scandinavian meets Japanese styled hardcore that's based in the UK, with members from Brazil and Italy. Their sound can be broken down into a large dose of Deathside and Anti-Cimex with a bit of Motorhead influences, which creates undeniably unique lead filled devastation!! On "Abused" Nailbiter tread the peak of punishing hardcore with an epic burning edge and dementedly harsh vocals, creating an album which stands on it's own, while bringing to mind greats of the past. This is their 1st album after a split 7" ep with Finland's Viimeinen Kolonna and a split LP with Spain's Destruccion. 7 songs (includes an Anti Cimex cover). 21:10 play time. LP 33 rpm. Comes on color vinyl." -Jay/Hardcore Holocaust

Negative Approach - "Ready to Fight: Demos, Live And Unreleased Tracks 1981-'83" 2xLP on Reptilian Records $20.00
Fifty tracks - including 5 never before released early songs, NA's original 10 song demo from 1981, a live show from 1982, the original demos for the "Tied Down" LP and an incredible live show from 1983. Extensive liner notes and never before published photos. This is everything anyone ever hoping to hear more Negative Approach could have dreamed of and more.

Nightmare - "Scatteraw" LP on Plague Bearer $12.00
Japanese hardcore.

Nine Shocks Terror - "Zen and the Art of Beating Your Ass" LP on Havoc Records $10.00
This LP was originally released by the Japanese label Devour in 1999. Nine Shocks Terror is probably the most brutal and uncompromising hardcore band on earth. This LP features their best material, a totally raw and powerful hardcore onslaught. This re-issue has been completely re-mastered to correct the first pressing's flat sound and features different cover artwork than the original.

No Hope For The Kids - s/t LP on Feral Ward $10.00
U.S. pressing of their LP on Kick 'N Punch Records. Great melodic punk/hardcore with almost a UK Subs or some other 1980-81 British punk band influence used to create their own sound. It's tough to pin down as being derivative of just one sound or style and that helps it stand out. Great.

No Thanks - "Are You Ready To Die" LP on Lengua Armada Discos $11.00
"An amazing obscure early eighties NYC hardcore outfit, Some of the best female vocals ever put to hard-core. This is aggressive rough and tough sounding hardcore punk with a Fuck You attitude that has been overlooked for way too long. No Thanks shared stages with the best of the NYHC scene such as the Bad Brains, Reagan Youth, Urban Waste, Kraut, and many others. The 12" includes the very rare 7" from 1983 a 1982 demo tape plus a live set from CBGB's. 1000 pressed." -Martin

N.O.T.A. - "Live At The Crystal Pistol" LP on Prank Records $9.00
A solidly recorded live set that perfectly captures the enegry and aggression of early '80s Oklahoma hardcore punks, None Of The Above. This was recorded on January 11, 1983 and contains hits like "Disconnected", "Moscow", "Toy Soldiers", "Self Destruct", Propaganda Control" and more. It also contains three three demo songs recorded in July of '82. Minor Threat meets Blitz.

Offenders - "Endless Struggle" LP on Kangaroo Records $12.00
"Kangaroo Recs is extremely honored and mumbled, to be able to announce, the original re-release on vinyl, of one of the most classic hardcore/punk records of all time. Oi Polloi/Nikmat Olalim split LP on Campary Records $10.00
UK/Israel anarchist hardcore punk!! Oi Polloi has been around forever and info is widely available online about them. N.O. is a newer band from Israel.

Ordrenekt/Victimised split 12" on Plata Records $12.00
Two bands from Norway here and both play similar styles -- slightly metallic, searing '80s inspired hardcore mixed with some thrash and crossover influences. Solid production and tight musicianship backed by really well written and executed songs set this one apart from the pack. Highly recommended.

Ordrenekt - "Guddommelig Incest" LP on Hardcore Holocaust $10.00
"Norwegian HC punks, killing with searing guitars and 80's punk style. The CD version also includes their debut EP tracks plus an unreleased song from the same session. Translated album title: "Divine Incest" " -Jay/Hardcore Holocaust

This has the raw, violent energy of Warhead's first 7". An instant classic!" -Chris/Hardware Records http://www.hardware-records.com/mp3/organism_-_judge.mp3

Out Cold - "Two Broken Hearts Are Better Than One" LP on Kangaroo Records $11.00
Fourth album, European pressing. Great, fast Boston styled hardcore with some of the catchiest riffs ever put to wax.

Out Cold - "Goodbye Cruel World" LP on Mad At The World Records $10.00
"As long terms fans of Out Cold, Mad at the World is happy to release Out ColdÌs sixth full length studio album. Since the late 1980's, Out Cold has ploughed their way through white knuckled hardcore with bulldozing precision. Out ColdÌs abysmally bad attitude propels them through this album of frantically desperate, warp-speed punk, just the kind of hardcore punk legions of Out Cold enthusiasts have come to expect." -Mad At The World Records

Pack/S.O.L - split LP on Rinderherz Records $12.00
Two great European crust bands on this split record. Pack comes from Switzerland and plays really intense crust/hardcore with dual vocals and some melodic touches (but NOT in the vein of Tragedy, Ambulance, etc.). S.O.L from Germany has a more metallic feel and is less melodic. The thick and rough recording quality is perfect for this style and makes both bands stand out. And to top it off, the split LP comes in a cool gatefold sleeve with silver foil stamp on the cover. Excellent all around.

Pedestrians - LP on A Wrench In The Gears $9.00
Second LP by this melodic punk/hardcore band from Chicago. A damn good follow up to the first record.

Poison Idea - "Latest Will And Testament" LP on Farewell Records $13.00
PI's latest and final LP. R.I.P. Pig Champion. Full description when i stop getting lazy. Sounds like "Feel The Darkness" era.

Regulations - "Electric Guitar" LP on Havoc Records $10.00
"Seven new studio tracks on the A side. Following in the proven Regulations style of going back to the roots of hardcore punk, circa 1980. Catchy, snotty, raw, hardcore punk that would fit right in on Dangerhouse records or the Boston Not L.A. compilation. B side features both 7's (now out of print) as bonus tracks." -Havoc Records

Religious War - "Cracked System" LP on Hardcore Holocaust $10.00
"The final offering from these Portland punks. 8 tracks of thick & aggressive hc punk chaos. Combining explosive drumming, distortion soaked guitar tone and urgently shouted vocals, "Cracked System" perfects Religious War's sound and places them solidly among other PDX punk favorites. LP Jacket features a metal foil stamp." -Jay/Hardcore Holocaust

Riffs - "Underground Kicks" LP on TKO Records $10.00
"After wowing audiences nationwide on tour dates supporting legends Slaughter & the Dogs and current Punk Rock greats the Virus and Defiance; Portland, OR's true underground underdogs have decided to answer the call for "MORE!" from their growing army of fans, with this reissue of their 2000 debut album, Underground Kicks." -TKO Records

Ripcord - "Discography Part 1 The Damage Is Done/Defiance Of Power" LP on Skuld Releases $12.00
"This material has been out of print on vinyl for nearly 15 years. This is the shit, though it is nothing more than just a raw thrash attack. It contains all the tracks from their selfproduced flexi and their first album on Manic Ears Ripcord definded the English hardcore between 1984 and 1988. Along with Heresy, the Stupids, Doom and Extreme Noise Terror, they were one of the best bands that England had to offer at that time when Cal had gotten his balls sewed on again and the technicolor punks from Kings Road became extinct. Ripcord, though from Weston-Super-Mare would have loved being a D.C. (Teen Idles / G.I.'s) or Boston band (S.S.D. / D.Y.S.), but they were one of these bands that could easily outrival their paragons. Their greatest recording event was the John Peel Session (featured on the Discography Pt. 3 LP). Steve Hazzard and John later joined Spite, John and Jim formed Dumbstruck." -Skuld Releases

Ripcord - "Discography 2 Harvest Hardcore/Poetic Justice" LP on Skuld Releases $12.00
"Ripcord are among my all time favourites!! Influenced by brutal US bands like Siege, Negative Approach among others, they managed to create a sound of their own by melting together this sound with their UK roots and were among the best bands that came from this fucking island called Great Britain in the late 80's. This is the 2nd part of their discography containig the best songs from the "Harvest Hardcore" 7" plus their best but last LP "Poetic Justice"." -Skuld Releases

Ripcord - "Discography Part III: From Demo Slaves to Radio Waves" LP on Skuld Releases $12.00
"The third and final LP in the series documenting the recorded works of one of the most remarkable hardccore bands from the UK during the late 80's. This LP compiles tracks from nearly the opposite end of this bands careerr, kicking off with the up until now unreleased John Peel Radio Session (exquisitely recorded at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios) and finishing off with a pair of demos, which were later re-recorded as the Defiance of Power LP and the famous flexi EP. While there is a huge body of work separating these recordings, this collection proves that Ripcord was a force to be reckoned with from start to finish." -Skuld Releases

Rouse - "Deep Inside" 12" on Shortfuse Records $10.00
In the late '80s, members of HHH from Spain decided to form a paralell side project for their interest in a more melodic hardcore sound. Rouse is what came of that. Well written songs with a melodic backbone that pack feeling and emotion. This release compiles recordings from the earliest recording sessions in August of 1991. 16 songs total.

Rovsvett - "Boll-Mats Bjuder Pa Bullkalas & Kaffe 1984-1987" LP on Six Weeks Records $8.50
"Fast Swedish thrashing hardcore from the hey day of the 80's scene, full bore 100% hardcore attack featuring both long gone early classic EPÌs + rare demo tracks." -Six Weeks Records

Rudimentary Peni - "The E.P.'s Of R.P." LP on Outer Himalayan Records $12.00
This LP compiles Rudimentary Peni's first two EPs including their s/t one from 1981 and "Farce" from 1982. Unique, dark, and ecclectic punk that was often termed anarcho-punk but is really too innovative and original to fit into any one genre. Two classic EPs on one record.

Ruin - "Ghost Of The Past" LP on Agipunk Records $12.00
Comprised of ex-members of some of the best English bands from the '90s including Debris, Disaffect, Doom, Quarentine, Scatha, Ruin continue in the same tradition of thick, heavy crust/hardcore with political lyrics. Reminds me of a Skuld release for the 2000s.

Runnamucks - "Of A Different Breed" LP on Six Weeks Records $8.50
Ugly blasts of 1982 hardcore punk from these Florida kids for fans of early F.U.'s, Sick Pleasure, and Black Flag!

Saw Throat - "Indestroy" LP on Skuld Releases $12.00
"Re-issue of one of my alltime favourite crust LPs from the UK. In 1989 this project was born and executed by members of Doom, Sore Throat and an unknown guy called Hammy ;) - a killer ONE song (divided intio chapters though) concept album was the result. Passionate, epic and pounding Crust that is heavily influenced by bands like Amebix, Antisect, Axegrinder :).... Cool riffage, pounding drums, keyboards and rough vocals are the trademark of their mostly midtempo anarchocrust sound. The allover topic of the album is the man-made destruction of our planet delivered in an urgent way, emphasized by the apocalyptic artwork of Steve Hutton. Re-issue comes in a nicely put together gatefold + linernotes of the "singer". This is another joint-venture with Epistrophy records." -Skuld Releases

Scatha - "After The Dust Settles" 2xLP on Agipunk Records $19.00
"Born in Scotland in 1995 from the ashes of Disaffect and Sedition, Scatha established themselves as one of the most important names in the 90's crust scene. Carrying on a deep concept rooted in the Celtic culture, their songs still remain a breath of fresh air, complex, slower, sometimes with a metallic pace, leading crust to an original and still unreached by others level. This double Lp features in their entirety "Respect, Protect, Reconnect" '96 LP, "Fuck the system" '97 EP, "Birth, life and death" '98 LP and tracks from the split EP with Dagda. Comes with thick booklet with lyrics. Already out on CD on MCR Company/Japan, now you have the chance to get those masterpieces in the original vinyl format." -Agipunk Records

Scorned - "This Mad Endeavor" LP (self released) $8.00
12 mad blasts of crusty punk from Minneapolis with lyrical translations

Scream - "Still Screaming" LP on Dischord Records $10.00
Dischord Records #9 recorded in October of 1982 before they went soft, before Grohl, and before emo or "emotional hardcore" was ever termed. Great, catchy, heartfelt melodic hardcore punk from Washington DC. Excellent.

See You In Hell - "Umet Se Prodat" 12" on Ultima Ratio $12.00
"First full LP and first repress - 22 minutes 11 new songs of hasty, raw and furious, dark, crucial hardcore/punk their best material they ever did and crushing sound this record is more into the crust, more powerfull then on previous releases and it looks they take inspiration in Japanese hardcore punk on this LP. Excelent draw sleeve and great graphic design, political and personal lyric and fine poster, i think it is best Czech hardcore record for years!!!" -Ultima Ratio

Selfish - "Cause Pain" LP on Feral Ward $10.00

Shock Troop - "Nightmare In 2012" LP on Sniper Fucker Records $16.00

Siege - "Drop Dead" LP on Deep Six Records $10.00
Arguably, the most influential band to come out of the early '80s Boston hardcore scene that produced such bands as Jerry's Kids, The F.U.'s, Gang Green, SS Decontrol, Negative FX, and plenty of others. Siege along with bands like the Neos and Deep Wound helped push the boundaries of how fast music could be played at that time while sacrificing none of their power for speed. Their demo and comp tracks would go on to become legendary, influencing the likes of Heresy, Ripcord, Napalm Death, and Lárm among many others. But Siege wasn't a one dimensional speedcore band like some of their contemporaries pushing the speed limits. Songs like "Conform" and "Starvation" are powerful and intense songs that go beyond the regular verse/chorus format. This release features all nine tracks recorded by the band in 1984 at Radio Beat studios in Boston, Massachusetts, three of which were featured on Pusmort's "Cleanse The Bacteria" compilation in 1985. The record also features TWO previously unreleased Siege tracks recorded with Seth Putnam from Anal Cunt on vocals in 1991. The songs are called "Two Faced" and "Trained to Kill" and pick up right where Siege left off in 1985. One of the all time greats.

SNFU - "...And No One Else Wanted To Play" LP on BYO Records $10.00
Allegedy one of the best live bands ever according to those that saw them, and this picture and this picture certainly seem to support that. This is SNFU's debut LP from 1984. Canadian melodic punk/hardcore with an odd and original take, both musically and lyrically. Songs such as "She's Not On The Menu," "Seein' Life Through The Bottem Of A Bottle," and "Plastic Surgery Kept Her Beautiful" show a different view of things but keep the band far away from the "novelty punk" category. Recorded in L.A. with Youth Brigade assisting.

SNFU - "If You Swear, You'll Catch No Fish" LP on BYO Records $10.00

Staathaat - s/t LP on Opiate Records $12.00
"Staathaat's beautifully presented first release combines the intensely negative vibes of Dystopia, the crushing black-hole heaviness of Corrupted and the raging hardcore attack of His Hero Is Gone, so while all this means you're probably not going to find anything exactly new here, the list of influences is so completely unfuckwithable it hardly matters! Staathaat are truly hardcore, with unpredictable and exciting shifts in tempo, heavy yet catchy riffs and totally deathly roars. I like my music either very slow or very fast, and Staathaat do the former most of the time, so base your purchase on that more than anything else. Rest assured though, they do both very well." -Collective Zine, England

Subhumans - "The Day the Country Died" LP on Bluurg Records

Taking on everything possible including organized religion, the military, the government, the police, and everything in between, the Subhumans were pertinent and not afraid to take aim at what they felt were the evils of the world. An excellent and still relevent record today. Members went on to form Culture Shock and Citizen Fish.

Vicious - "Alienated" LP on Feral Ward $10.00
After a 7" single and 12" EP, The Vicious from Sweden release this great LP of dark and melodic punk. V/A - "Yalta Hi Life" on Power It Up Records $12.00
"Here it is at last. A legit re press of this Finnish hardcore classic from 1984. This is repressed under license by Power It Up records of Germany with North American distribution by Havoc. I know that comps get a bad rap these days as random assemblies of bands "throwaway tracks". You have to put yourself back in time to the good old days of 1984 when hardcore was still a new, raw and urgent form of music. At that time comps made a lot of sense to document the explosive new scene and most bands chose their BEST songs to put on a comp rather than their worst. Yalta Hi Life was originally released by Finland's Barrabas records in 1984. Featured are three to eight tracks each by Terveet Kadet, Varaus, Aparat, Kaaos, Aivoproteesi and KTMK. I'm particularly fond of this style of comp because you get about a 7" worth of material from each of the six bands. The TK and Kaaos songs are raging, and most people will probably buy this because those bands are pretty well known. KTMK is at their most hardcore/punk sounding on this release. Varaus can't be touched on any format. Aparat is not so well known, but still tear it up. And Aivoproteesi are really good and pretty unknown outside Finland as I think this material is their only release. A really solid comp start to finish if you are a die hard or just getting into 80's Finnish hardcore." -Havoc Records
